Browse is LIU's new technology store located on the LIU Post and LIU Brooklyn campuses, showcasing a wide range of
technology devices, including tablets, notebooks, desktops, gaming consoles, peripherals, and accessories. All items are offered at
discounted rates to LIU community members (students, faculty, staff, and administrators) with a valid LIU ID.
Browse
Store Associates (student hires) gain experiential learning opportunities in areas such as inventory management, retail customer service,
and business operations, helping them build valuable work experience while studying at LIU. Store Associates enhance the customer experience
by greeting each visitor with a warm welcome and a fond farewell.
They are committed to delivering quality customer
service and serving as a helpful resource for technology-related needs. Browse is also an Apple Authorized Campus Store-an exclusive
designation granted only to LIU among higher education institutions in the Long Island region.
Browse is currently
seeking a Store Manager who will be primarily responsible for all aspects of the store, including financial performance, operations,
merchandising, talent acquisition, customer service, campus relations, and the procurement of technology for institutional use. The Store
Manager will foster positive relationships within the campus community and serve as a member of LIU's Information Technology department to
help deliver an exceptional customer experience.
This role also involves direct oversight of Store Associates,
including training, supervision, and coaching, to ensure outstanding service and build long-term customer loyalty-driving measurable results
for both Browse and LIU.
Responsibilities:
- Execute business strategies and identify opportunities to
drive sales, increase customer satisfaction, and grow store traffic.
- Delegate effectively and follow through on
responsibilities while managing high visual merchandising standards, ensuring merchandise availability, maintaining proper inventory levels,
and meeting project deadlines.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and sales performance through effective
scheduling, talent acquisition, training, and development of store team members.
- Cultivate and maintain strong
relationships across campus, including faculty, staff, and student organizations.
- Actively participate in campus and
student-centered events to drive brand awareness, increase engagement, and strengthen the store's presence within the LIU community.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills, a willingness to learn independently, embrace change, and act as a proactive change agent.
- Analyze sales data, interpret trends, and forecast future performance to manage controllable costs and ensure
profitability.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized store environment by implementing health, safety, and loss
prevention measures while upholding high standards of customer service and operational excellence.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent movement within the store to access various departments, areas, and/or products.
- Ability to
remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Frequent lifting.
- Occasional reaching, stooping,
kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
Qualifications:
- Apple certifications required.
- 5+ years' supervisory experience in a retail or higher education setting preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in
business administration or relevant field preferred.
- Leadership experience to direct and develop a workforce of managers
and sales associates.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills to manage campus relationships and
corporate initiatives while achieving customer sales and service goals.
- Familiarity with financial and customer service
principles. - Basic reading, writing, and accounting skills required.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
needed.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
