Your Role And Responsibilities About HashiCorp Design We build the Infrastructure Cloud which allows enterprises to take a unified approach to Infrastructure and Security Lifecycle Management:
Infrastructure Lifecycle Management: Build / Deploy / Manage
- Terraform allows you to use infrastructure as code to provision and manage any infrastructure across your organization.
- Packer standardizes image workflows across cloud providers, allowing teams to build, govern and manage any image for any cloud.
- Waypoint makes infrastructure easily accessible at scale, enabling platform teams to deliver golden patterns and workflows with an internal developer platform.
- Nomad brings modern application scheduling to any type of software, allowing you to manage containers, binaries and VMs efficiently in the cloud, on-premises and across edge environments.
- Vagrant isolates dependencies and their configuration within a single disposable and consistent development environment.
Security Lifecycle Management: Protect / Inspect / Connect
- Vault provides organizations with identity-based security to automatically authenticate and authorize access to secrets and other sensitive data.
- Boundary standardizes secure remote access across dynamic environments, allowing organizations to connect users and manage access with identity-based security controls.
- Consul standardizes service networking, allowing you to discover and securely connect any service across any runtime with identity-based service networking.

About The Role As the Senior Manager of UX Research, you will lead our newly forming team of researchers shaping the future of user experiences at HashiCorp. You will play a key role in defining and driving the experience vision for all of Hashicorp products.
You and your team will drive alignment and collaboration around the questions the organization is asking, the decisions that teams need to make and help identify what evidence and insights we need to gather or synthesize to help inform those decisions. The outcome of your team’s work will be strong collaborations and trusted partnerships through which we can collectively build a clearer understanding of target users, their contexts, goals, tasks and needs as well as the surrounding ecosystems.
What You’ll Do (responsibilities)- Support, coach, and scale a team of UX researchers. Guide their career growth, provide regular feedback, and ensure high-quality execution.
- Ensure the team delivers high-quality UX research.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product design, engineering, product management, and leadership to define research roadmaps, priorities, and strategies.
- Champion user-centered culture by advocating for research-informed decision-making.
- Represent research in executive updates, contributing insights and recommendations that shape the direction of Hashicorp’s portfolio of products.
- Actively participate in hiring efforts, helping to grow a diverse, high-performing UX research team across regions, including potential global expansion.
Preferred Education Bachelor's Degree
Required Technical And Professional Expertise - Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring UX research teams in highly complex technical domains
- Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Experience recruiting and conducting research with technical users.
- Ability to develop a UX research strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Experience working with data analytics tools
- Familiarity with enterprise software, typical IT users and workflows.
- Experience driving a user-centered culture in technical environments.
- The ability to help the team balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
- The ability to help the team effectively translate research findings into actionable recommendations
- Experience building an insights repository (nice to have)
