As a part-time Library Assistant for our El Mirage Library, you will provide routine customer service, service routing, and clerical work for the library. Refers customer concerns to the appropriate staff member or supervisor as necessary Initiates search for materials claimed "returned" Processes library materials for shelving and routing Performs opening or closing duties as assigned Assists with maintenance and display of the collection Assists customers with the use of a self-service payment kiosk Working Conditions Library environment requiring evening and weekend availability Ability to cover shifts at nearby library branches Ability to lift up to 20 pounds floor-to-waist; lift up to 5 pounds waist-to-shoulder, lift 1 pound shoulder-to-overhead, carry up to 10 pounds a distance of up to 50 feet, and push/pull up to 50 pounds a distance of 100 feet Selection Procedure Only the most qualified candidates will be considered Consideration will only be given to candidates who submit online applications Candidates will be contacted primarily through email and their Workday online application profile Must pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive Maricopa County is an equal opportunity employer.
