Join to apply for the Junior Accountant role at Gulfside Healthcare Services Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Junior Accountant - Payroll/Accounts Payable is responsible for Payables processing activities including Timekeeping, Payroll, Invoice/Payment processing. The position also provides accounting support for the month-end close process and annual audits. Education And Qualifications Associates degree in Accounting or Business, Bachelor’s degree preferred. 1-3 years of experience or more in payroll processing 3-5 years of payroll/AP experience with no degree. Strong working knowledge of journal entries, accruals, general ledger, and financial reporting. Solid communication, technology, and analytical abilities. Proficiency in Excel and HRIS / payroll processing systems. Experience in healthcare/insurance industry preferred. Essential Job Responsibilities Timely recording of financial information in alignment with GAAP principles. Process bi-weekly payroll ensuring accuracy and completeness of timecards, time off requests, payroll adjustments and payroll calculations. Provide administrative and technical support to employees (payroll & timekeeping). Work with Human Resources on processes improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency. Prepare payroll journal entries and month-end payroll accruals. Perform invoice validation and entry to ensure expenses are recorded accurately and timely. Perform weekly AP payment runs to ensure accurate and timely payments to vendors. Assist with audit preparation and compliance activities including maintaining an organized and efficient filing system for accounts payable transactions.
