The Facilities department is seeking a Project Manager to assist the Corporate Facilities and Maintenance team on a variety of projects from concept development to commissioning and operation. As a Project Manager, you will be involved in a variety of unique design projects, including tenant finish work, building repairs, capital equipment installations, and building infrastructure modifications. This position requires an experienced and competent individual capable of solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. It is a full‑time opportunity located at the Burns & McDonnell headquarters in Kansas City, MO. Responsibilities Manage multiple projects simultaneously, covering a wide range of scopes from small to complex with varying schedules. Lead projects through all phases of execution—from initiation and scope development, through design, construction, and closeout—to achieve project schedules, budgets, and goals. Interact with the client and design team to develop project scope and communicate regular status updates. Provide direction to a multi‑discipline project design team. Monitor project execution for conformance to established processes. Actively develop relationships with all levels of the client organization, promoting client satisfaction and marketing of services. Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and judgment in anticipating and solving problems. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field from an accredited program. Minimum of 8 years of experience, with commercial office facilities project management experience preferred. Ability to orchestrate meetings with team members and upper management and lead a multi‑discipline design team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Conduct field work throughout the facility to support design and construction. Capable of devising new approaches to encountered problems. Proficient in basic computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, project specifications, and procedure manuals. Thorough understanding of OSHA and the latest safety standards. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
