Bachelor’s degree in Education, valid state Teaching license or certification, and 1+ years Teaching experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An elementary substitute position is available in Machesney Park, IL, supporting general education classrooms serving students from kindergarten through 5th grade. This part-time contract role focuses on delivering instruction primarily in general education with an emphasis on English Language Arts.

Responsibilities:

• Implement lesson plans and classroom activities for general education students in grades K-5.
• Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and ensure all students are engaged.
• Maintain a positive, supportive classroom environment aligned with school policies.
• Collaborate with school staff to support student learning and behavior management.
• Provide timely feedback and report on student progress as needed.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with elementary students, particularly in general education settings.
• Familiarity with English Language Arts curriculum and instructional strategies for K-5.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
