Job Description
The Dental Receptionist plays a key role in creating a positive patient experience by providing excellent customer service, managing front desk operations, and ensuring smooth day-to-day office functioning. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere in the reception area
Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and schedule appointments efficiently
Confirm, reschedule, and manage patient appointments to maximize provider schedules
Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary pre-authorizations
Collect and process patient payments, co-pays, and balances
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the dental management software
Coordinate with dental assistants, hygienists, and dentists to ensure smooth patient flow
Handle incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and faxes
Keep reception area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies
Follow HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or relevant certification preferred)
2 + years experience in a dental office
Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures, and insurance processes a plus
Proficiency in dental practice management software (Eaglesoft) preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Professional demeanor and a patient-focused attitude
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
