The Brand Manager is responsible for brand management, including strategies for pricing, POS, advertising, trade promotions and digital marketing for assigned brands. They must create or oversee the creation of promotional collateral and information materials the company will provide to the sales team and online for use in selling specific brands. This role is also tasked with tracking and measuring the impact, performance and effectiveness of such promotional tools and activities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES*:

Critical Tasks – Brand Planning: (60%)
\tManage the supplier relationship for assigned brands. Understand the family and brand stories, integrating such information into brand strategies and planning tools and activities. Apply direction to all: Inventory, pricing and programming needs for each family.
Performance Expectation: Maintain positive, regular and effective communication with supplier stakeholders, providing information on brand performance and activities, and utilizing supplier resources in the markets where appropriate.
\tCreate and execute annual and long-range marketing plans, brand programs and brand assets for assigned brands. This should include evaluating market opportunities for new channels, product additions or packaging updates.
Performance Expectation: Maintain the annual programming calendar to ensure all programs are effectively run on time. Provide ROI review of key marketing programs quarterly, regularly develop and maintain innovative POS programs and partnerships. Prepare and present regular brand business reviews to each supplier.
\tUpdate and create marketing promotional collateral based on established brand standards. Manage designers, photographers, copywriters and other external partners in coordination with marketing projects. Integrate creative selling materials and programs into trade facing website and distributor platforms. Gather and track post-launch feedback and metrics to incorporate into future program development.
Performance Expectation: Manage projects for on-time completion and delivery, on budget, and maintain updates to marketing materials so that they reflect current strategy and vintages. Assemble the 'teams' to identify, create and deploy the right programs based on brand needs. Regularly – once a month – share learnings from tracking metrics and qualitative feedback.
\tWorks closely with Supply Chain optimize forecasting based on accurate marketing and sales trends/plans. 'Owns' the inventory in the warehouse; depletes existing vintage before moving on to the next vintage.
Performance Expectation: Meets or exceeds average gross margins of the company by avoiding fire sales of excess inventory on one hand and out of stock situations on the other hand while growing the brand.

Digital Marketing (20%)
\tService, maintain and ensure the accuracy of consumer-interfacing websites such as Vivino and 'where to buy' inquiries using the Grappos tool on the company's consumer website and associated microsites.
Performance Expectation: Ensure all customer websites are operable, current and reflect active updates to all available information on the sites. Assist customers with inquiries within 24 hours of receipt.
\tConduct analysis and research that focusses on areas such as sales and marketing promotions, velocity, competitive set analysis. Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) regarding current market trends and data mining during the planning and business review meetings.
Performance Expectation: Provides monthly reports and updates to marketing team summaries of current market trends, market and brand analysis, and support for future brand business decisions.
\tLead, develop and assist wholesalers and retailers to develop appropriate and targeted marketing strategies for designated brands. Provide national, regional and local trade marketing/brand support, including programming, business reviews, market analysis or IRI data, and segmenting customers by strategic importance to align resources and opportunities.
Performance Expectation: Maintain the annual programming calendar to ensure all programs are effectively run on time. Provide ROI review of key marketing programs quarterly, regularly develop and maintain innovative POS programs and partnerships.
\tMaintain accuracy and keep current the trade site areas of “What's New” and Distributor lists no less than bi-weekly. Manage service provider responsible for microsites (Tropical, New Age, Geyser Peak, etc.). Evaluate and share Google analytics information for possible changes in execution strategy.
\tDevelop key account relationships that deliver measurable results.
\tResponsible for participating in presenting our priority wines, on all RFP's from national chain buyers
\tWork with key assigned teams to deliver monthly goals (work-withs, product training samples, staff tastings, etc.)
\tCreate, coordinate, and attend on-site promotional functions at established customer accounts (e.g., winemaker dinners, product launches, and tastings)
\tCall directly on key on and off-premise accounts to achieve monthly and annual velocity goals.
\tConduct market work with sales team as needed.
